DR JACLYN SMITH
(Naturopathic Doctor, the real you Nutrition Director)

Dr. Jaclyn Smith is a licensed Naturopathic Doctor. On a series of academic scholarships, she completed seven years of post-secondary education - first receiving her Bachelor of Science from The University of Western Ontario, followed by a Diploma of Naturopathic Medicine from the accredited Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. She is registered with the Board of Directors of Drugless Therapy-Naturopathy (BDDT-N), and is a member of the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND) and the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors (OAND).

Dr. Smith's thirst for knowledge has paved the way to becoming an ND. Growing up in a family afflicted with autoimmune diseases (rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, scleroderma), she eventually refuted the belief that there was no cure and began to question the underlying cause. Through her search for treatments, she stumbled across naturopathic medicine, a science rooted in the principle "Tolle Causam" meaning "Treat the Cause". The rest is history. With the support of naturopathic medicine, her family saw a reduction in medications and a reversal of symptoms - Dr. Smith saw an inspiring career.

Throughout the years, Dr. Smith has pursued further training in pain management, detoxification, sports medicine and myofascial release, naturopathic oncology, naturopathic rheumatology, and has recently become a certified Healthy & Active metabolic weight loss consultant. As a dedicated general practitioner, all of these credentials have fortified Dr. Jaclyn's practice, where her focus remains providing patients with an education on the many benefits of, as well as how to achieve, preventative health. These objectives are attained through the safe and effective use of clinical nutrition, Asian medicine and acupuncture, botanical medicine, detoxification and lifestyle counselling.

Gilbert's approach is really simple but seems long forgotten: the body, if given proper food and exercise, has the capacity and all the tools necessary to heal itself. Gilbert facilitates the empowering process in people to make regular exercise part of their daily routine, no matter how busy one can be. Gilbert prefers a technical, thoughtful approach to training over an all-out, no pain, no gain, style. Continuous education and learning is an integral part of Gilbert's plan, and fitness courses include FUNctional Training and Program Design (CHEK Institute).

Gilbert has experience working with a whole range of fitness levels, from beginners to athletes. Gilbert joined the real you program because he loves to teach and wants to help participants reach their goals.
