Dr. Neda was 1 of 20 Canadian physicians chosen to be a torchbearer for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Torch Relay. 600 doctors were nominated by their colleagues and a committee selected the final 20 based on their work to motivate and help others to live a healthy and active lifestyle.
Said Dave Moran, Communications Director for Coca-Cola Canada: "As part of our commitment to Active, Healthy Living, Coca-Cola Canada is using its sponsorship of the Olympic Torch Relay to recognize individuals who are living active and encouraging those around them to do the same." Coca-Cola was looking for inspirational physicians who live active lifestyles and who inspire others to be fit as well.
